Here's wishing you both many happy years of joy and happiness. May you always love her more than yesterday, less than tomorrow ...

Congrats! We are celebrating 4 years in two days. It is the best and worst thing that happened to me. Actually, that's not true. Having children was the best and worst thing that happened to me.

Congrats from me also, to you and your special lady!
I can't see the awesome cake, because I refuse to sign up for Facebook, but I hope it was tasty and you both enjoyed it.

My heartiest blessings! As a married man of 9 years, I can say that I have experienced the truth of the Church's teaching that marriage is a form of martyrdom. As both a husband and (for almost 5 years) a father, to be true I must strive against my natural selfishness and practice sacrificial love for my wife and daughter. Of course, it can be quite unpleasant at times. And yet, it is my greatest earthly joy. May you both have grace together.

Just realized I never said thanks for all the well-wishes. Forgive me for that, and thanks, everyone. you all have said some of the nicest things to us that anyone has said so far.

(grump mode on) Why are we celebrating? He's going to grad school, gotten married - we'll never see him again! He's just exchanging a life of deep gaming debauchery for normalcy. This is terrible! (/grumble mode)

Heh. You may be more right than you know, badger (though not with the marriage...my lovely wife is a gamer as well!)
Grad school and work, however, have really beaten me down lately. That's partially why Elf Lair has been so quiet...tough to be a one-man operation when the one man is beaten flat by life.

Grad school - more tips: - form a study group. Exchange notes, work together, provide each other with support
- learn to skim articles; read abstracts, then conclusions, then methodology
- pace yourself and get enough sleep. You actually cannot work as well if you stay up later than you should.
