I really should set a deadline for next issue, start making assignments, soliciting art, etc. I want to get it out by Halloween (we will see).
Is it wrong of me to just want to enjoy having the new issue out for a few days first?

Just enjoy for a while! You've earned it.

Since you went through hell this last time, I'd say take a week or two off. No one here could possibly complain.

Will the next-issue-what-we're-not-talking-about-yet-no-siree have a Halloween theme?

Ooooh....that'd be fun!

Halloween-themed articles would be great.
Tekumel or Tekumel-inspired art and articles would also be great, since the issue will be dedicated to MARB.
More soon.

Kesher wins!
I have a sudden urge to draw one of these flying lantern things. I may have a go.

Well, Will, you probably just sealed the deal of Melvin running into a 10 HD carnivorous, flying, self-immolating jack-o-lantern... @kelvin: Please, please go and draw them! I need a new avatar!

I have a workable sketch already, done while I should have been paying attention at work. I think it will make a fine avatar!

Every time you get in your DM Fiat, you run me over with it.
Besides, do we really need new art for these? Can't we just crib from Steve Ditko?

Maybe 1 HD per foot of diamater?
I think it is time for me to rise steely-eyed and start plotting the next issue. I guess I should decide whether to fix the ads and do some WE&BP related stuff first, though. More soon....

Maybe 1 HD per foot of diamater? Well, if it's system you want... Pumpkin Size...........Damage from Explosion...........Radius of Explosion 6"............................2d6............................................5' 12"...........................4d6...........................................10' 18"...........................6d6...........................................15' 24"...........................8d6...........................................20' (i.e., Fireball) 30"...........................10d6.........................................25' 36"...........................12d6.........................................30' Larger ...................... 15d6.......................................40' (i.e. The Great Pumpkin) If pumpkin is "on the vine," it may detonate other nearby pumpkins caught in its radius. (If no vine, no sympathetic detonation.) Plenty of options for mayhem here, folks! (Kesher, I'll start rolling up a new character this evening...)

Indeed! There is a Ditko influence in the design I've come up with, but it's from a different title. Here's the image: I may have to modify it though, as it may be too dark to print as is. As you can see, I've also tried for a slightly different style for these. It's a bit more "designy" and less detailed than my normal work, but this is just how it came out. There's also a colour version here.

Sweet! Love the bat wings -- I hadn't bothered to consider how they fly.

Thanks! It seemed obvious to me, but that's how these things come sometimes; as fully formed images with no room for argument, and I've just got to draw what comes to me. It sounds pretentious, I know!

Yeah, that's the way the monster stats went, too. That's when you know you've got something. And you have certainly got something there!

I think it's a joint effort. Without the initial ideas thrown about on this thread, there would have been no image at all!

I really like the B&W. The bat wings seem so fitting.
The funny thing is, when you guys first mentioned it, I pictured bat wings as well!

Kelvin, that ROCKS! As soon as I can get my act together, that's gonna be my avatar! And I'd be the first to vote for "Pumpkin Bombers" as their actual name!
AFAIC, it's a universal law that 93% of everything looks better with batwings...

Thanks! I had a go at an avatar-shaped version of the colour piece here. Feel free to grab it, or create your own if you prefer.
