I just took another look at Rob Kuntz' recollections from his adventures with Gary and Dave using the City of the Gods from the Oerth Journals #6 (http://www.greyhawkonline.com/canonfire/OJ_06.pdf)
Has anyone read this one recently? The City of the Gods appearing there strikes me as a little different than what is presented in DA3.
Seems like the City of the Gods is a pretty huge complex. In particular if Dave sent several groups down there.
Robilar and Mordenkeinen encountered Robots and a mechanical weasel-like creature, but also a Balor. What was the Balor doing there? Also, what was that cross-like artifact they discovered in the City?
There is also a reference to them having encountered Plainsmen on their journey to the City. I'm assuming these were Peshwa?
Any thoughts on this?

I have a copy of the original manuscript for that, will have to go back and do some A-B comparison (and then -C to DA3, I suppose) before I can shed any light, havard.

I haven't forgotten about this, just haven't made time to work on it yet. Whenever you have the time Allan By the way, reading up on the original Blackmoor stories, I begin to wonder if the Balrog encountered by Robilar and Mordenkainen was in fact John Soukup's character? Havard

Since originally reading the notes on Robilar's journey I have often considered Arneson's reaction to Mordenkainen & Robilar's magic items to be a good rule of thumb for importing pre-existing PCs into a your campaign: pick three items to keep and you get a healing potion.

Thou art exalted for mentioning that! That's an awesome way of looking at it.
