I think it's fairly clear that initiative rules were meant to be used, with a bonus for dex over 13 and whatnot, but how does this mesh with the Chainmail rules? In Chainmail they assume only two sides and it's hard to work out how things would work if there were multiple combatants. Do you maybe roll initiative for each character on each side, then average them all together? But that seems rather cumbersome.
How do you handle it, particularly with Chainmail in mind?
