Hi there,
One of my players suggested making a new class for our Gangbusters game.
The class would be Politician, or Bureaucrat possibly, the idea is a Civil Servant - someone in the justice department say or the DAs office. The point is to create a civilian foil for all the cop/law enforcement careers presently in play. Our campaign is an honest PCs only one, but we still like some tension between characters. The cops/Feds/Prohis had some issues with the reporter and private dick, but what would have been really good is a PC ADA or somesuch who could have their own objectives that could clash with the goals of the other PCs.
The idea is, you're all on the same side, in the long run you all want the same thing, but in the shorter run your interests might actually be quite different.
Any thoughts on how to set up such a class? How would levels work? What would xp goals and rewards be? Any special abilities or restrictions?
All thoughts welcome.

Something I never thought about, but an interesting angle. Civil Servants/Politicians were always under the JUDGE'S (GM) control using contacts. The foil for excesses, for us, was the Judge.
A good starting point for you, as it was for the design, is SKILLS. Define the skills you want to allow and their impact on the game. The levels, etc should follow.
But, you've given me something to think about.
