Best of The Dragon (published in 1980) notes at the beginning: “The material ranges from the first issue of THE STRATEGIC REVIEW, published in the spring of 1975, to TD #14, published in May of 1978.”
Below I've done a detailed list of where precisely each article in Best of the Dragon was originally published. First, I list the articles in the order in which they appear in Best of the Dragon. Second, I list the articles in the order originally published. Please note that in a few cases the title of an article changed somewhat between its first and second publications. In the first list, I give the titles as they appear in Best of the Dragon. In the second list, I give the titles as they appear in the original publications.
Fun fact: Each of the seven issues of The Strategic Review have at least one article in Best of the Dragon, and all but one of the first fourteen issues of The Dragon have at least one article in Best of the Dragon. Poor The Dragon #3! It is entirely unrepresented in Best of the Dragon.
