T shirts and coffee mugs would be cool.
Any covers people would particularly want for the items?
Also, can you set these up with a jpeg on cafepress, or is it more complex?

I've used both cafepress and zazzle.com and find the latter much easier to work with. If all you want is a cover image or even just the logo on a T-shirt or mug it shouldn't really be that much work.

I have a Cafepress and a Zazzle store. I've found Cafepress phenominally easy to use and Zazzle a real headache. That might be just me though. The good thing about having both is that they offer different products.

I remember paying a ton of money for cafepress shipping to Europe and not being very impressed with the quality (t-shirt & mug).
I'd go with the cover of issue #1 – after all, it's called Fight On!

Actually, we could sell T-shirts and mugs with all the covers - they're all cool.
I would need permission from Andrew to do #1, Kevin to do #2, and Steve to do #4, though. Email me if any of you guys want to discuss that...if I don't email you first!

I wouldn't mind one with just the logo as well.

I've mentioned this before, but I think the cut-away of The Darkness Beneath practically begs begs to be a t-shirt.
I think a cool design could be generated of a hand-drawn dungeon level paired with the FO! logo.
I also second the request for a logo-only design.

I would need Rob's permission to do the Darkness Beneath as a t-shirt, I think...although he did sort of donate that to the project as an ongoing thng...but I still like to ask people. I think that's a great idea though.
The logo-only shirts/mugs would be great. I actually tried to do a logo mug on cafepress 6 months ago but I couldn't get it to look right, I remember now.
When I get a free minute (HA HA HA!!!!! - but on the front burner when I can't keep forcing myself to do layout) I will try to do a logo one and one with the cover of #3 for experimentation and paste the links here.

This was definitely the idea I liked about T-shirts but had forgotten who had suggested it. Hopefully Rob would be OK with it because I think that would make a fantastic shirt.

For a limited color palette, the quality of real silk-screening is unbeatable. Furthermore, you are only paying for the printing set-up once, which means it can be distributed over the volume of shirts printed. Why pay $20 for one color when you could pay $12? My information comes from a friend I game with, who happens to run a shirt press business (www.psychoreindeer.com). Making shirts with his help would only be slightly more involved than drawing for the magazine. Shipping wouldn't be hiked either

That might work for the simpler ones. This is a good idea in general.

I reckon the most recent cover would make a great t-shirt, and I'd be more than happy to have the logo on a mug.

My approach to a cut-away dungeon shirt would be to place additional art with each revealed location. Thus, it would have a connection to such works as the 1st Monster Manual cover, and illustrations like Erol Otus' famous White Plume Mountain area map. Even non-D&Ders could figure out the layout, as it would look like a tourist map of a fantasy "amusement park" (go here to see scurrying trogs!)
I'd make the printed area the maximum height possible, and screen it on the back of shirts. This would emphasize the "mega-ness" of the dungeon.

As a test I set up a zazzle store: www.zazzle.com/CalithenaI have not tested any of this stuff yet. If anyone wants to check out the previews who has used zazzle and see if they look OK, or try ordering an item, or suggest other items, go ahead! Rob, Kevin, and Andrew will get some money from your purchases of items with their images on them, as will the magazine and I from all purchases. Please let us know what you think about all this. I'm not publicizing this effort until we find our feet with it.

I'd still like to see a shirt with #4's cover, but that mug is perfect.

I would like that too, but I need to get in contact with Steve, who unfortunately has not been around lately.

Hey, that's pretty cool! I didn't know you could put images on the back of shirts on Zazzle. I better go revamp my store.

I had completely forgotten about this! Someone bought something today and I got an email reminder. I think it was the Elric shirt.
Well, anyway, if Fight On! swag is your thing, here is a place you can get some.

You still mean the zazzle link on the previous page? 'cause I somehow never saw that before and that stuff is AWESOME!
I think, immediately, I need the red trucker hat and the stainless steel travel mug!
Cal, can we publicize this? Please?

You are free to share this out. This stuff was all designed a long time ago on a lark to see if we could do it, someone ordered one shirt, and then I forgot about it. Then all of the sudden the other day my man at Origins (remember, free PDFs if you find him!) ordered a few and I was like, whoa, I remember this.
I think I am going to check back in with artists whose work is featured on the shirts though, since it's been so long.

You should totally run an ad in the next issue advertising Fight On! shirts, hats, and swag and how to order 'em. Who better to advertise to than the folks who are loyal enough to pick up the mag in the first place? (I'd prefer a basic shirt with just the logo across the chest. No other art - just the logo...)

Well, we're not a for-profit venture, but I guess letting people know about the swag isn't the worst thing in the world. I am not sure there is any room left in issue 12 though! But maybe 13. I will pass along money to artists. If you are an artist of a cover that doesn't already have a t-shirt, drop me a line if you'd like me to put together a zazzle shirt, and let me know how much you'd like to make per unit sold if they sell.

I'm not sure anything I've done is appropriate for a shirt, but if there is something, I'd be quite happy for it to be used.

I'd be interested, but like the shipping for the magazine (from lulu) how much they are going to hose me for posting to Canada will factor into it.
