That's a neat monster. Where did it come from, and are there other monsters like it there? (I'm thinking about the gaming source, not the monster's home)

Okay, I'm still laughing about that page. I particularly like the following quote from the author: So true.

I made use of this monster yesterday.
No PC casualties though. But in a trio it was nasty!

Maybe next time! Weirdly, acquired the Tom Wham boardgame, Search for the Emperor's Treasure, thanks to this post, and Giant Vampire Frogs are one of the monsters players can encounter! Time to start a cult, I guess...

They say it was an ordinary frog until that fateful summer night... It was a hot and humid night, and the vampire Count Hemoth had just gorged himself on an innocent victim. As he was out the window to return to his castle, he was bitten by a mosquito... and died instantly from the deadly yellow fever (one of the lesser known weaknesses of vampires). That mosquito was transformed by the vampire's blood, and it became a powerful vampire-mosquito. The mosquito's victory was short lived; it was promptly eaten by a frog. That frog became the world's first Giant Vampire Frog. That night would be forever known as the night of the Giant Vampire Frog.

Palmer, your monsters are freakin' hillarious! I've got several scheduled to make appearances in my current campaign. I'm just waiting for the right inopportune circumstances. <grin>

Thanks Yesmar, I like creatures to be funny and horrifiying at the same time if possible. And I like to have at least a semi-plausible explanation for their existance. I think some of the best gaming experiances are when the players realize that their facing something weird and unknown, and they don't know if they should fight,or laugh, or run like hell.
