It's on. The family is on the plane to California.
I have a 2004 Ridge York Creek open and I'm exhausted, so I don't know how much I'm going to get to tonight, but I am on this like a lawful cleric on a barrow wight. Will keep you posted on the glamorous life of a fanzine editor over the next few days!

Covers are set. Final layout processed to page 17.
Tired, tired.

Page 22. Hopefully those metalheads will get in soon. I can use the rough as a placeholder in the meantime.
Headache from insomnia. I scoff at those who suggest it might have been the wine or finishing Ninja Scroll at 3 am.

One might even say Fight On!...

Post by coffee on Feb 20, 2009 15:10:11 GMT -6
I would have, but I thought that would have been a bit trite...

What'd you just call me??

TRITE T is for Typical, the usual response in a situation. R is for Rong, like this word is spelled I is for Incendiary; we don't want him to FIGHT Fight On!, we want it to be a living thing -- not dead. T is for Twice? What's up with this letter? and E is for Extreme -- you responded to that extremely quickly. (Hope this banter and badinage is providing the appropriate comic relief for Cal!)

Whoo, that was a slog. Only to page 33 now. Still, I think it's about to get easier in a few more pages.

A little after 9 o'clock and I'm hitting page 42. Soon the stray bits that are out will need to come in (I gave a bunch of people until tomorrow and I'll honor that, but nothing after that at this point I think. Thank you all so much for your help.)

We are now laid out through page 53. I am beat. I am going to watch Appaloosa and fall asleep now. More tomorrow!

There must be many of us who check this thread at least twice a day, hoping you will make it, and hoping you will like it enough to still want to work on the next issue, and the next, and the one after that…

I am really hoping that the issue is ready to go by the end of the day, though loose ends may take us into tomorrow.
I think this issue's going to clock in at about 120 but I don't really know for sure.
Appaloosa was pretty good - I was surprised actually. Not great but it was an actual Western, which are very rare since the end of the seventies. Recommended.
Now back to work, though I may have to call a plumber and go to the store before the morning is out!

No way we're going to 120 pages, actually. About 100, and I'm on 70 now. I think this is going to get done tonight, assuming my last minute guys come through...maybe even if they don't.
Thanks to everyone for their help!

Working on page 85 now and I need to go get some dinner. It's 10 pm and I haven't eaten! We shall overcome someday.

Thanks guys. A little before 1 am, starting page 95 now. The nice taqueria was closed by the time I got out of hear so I had to eat a d**n crunchwrap supreme at Taco Bell. You see what I put up with for you guys?
I think this might get pushed until tomorrow morning, but not much longer. Maybe tonight but my need to write the editorial and a couple loose ends may push it to tomorrow. But the proof should be on lulu tomorrow, for those who dare to buy early...

Page 106 now and we are almost there. Darkness Beneath, Reviews, Editorial, and Artifacts, Adjuncts, and Oddments and we are done. I have people coming over tonight so we'll see if I can beat that deadline or if it will be late tonight, but one way or another we should get there today!

I think I may have mediocre layout skills, but I'm a very good content editor. So just make the ideas smokin' and the rest will take care of itself!

Your post got deleted somehow. I´ll try to put the Palace toguether starting at March 7th. The thing is... I don´t trust too much my written english. That kinda pulls me back... what do you think?
