I've just bought How to host a Dungeon (but havent got it yet) and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it. Was it fun? Did it result in dungeons that were fun to play in? I like how it seems to help you create dungeons with rich layers of history.

Yes, I did. I liked it! I haven't had a chance to use it in a campaign yet, but it has a lot of utility.

I will probably get the pdf within 24h and as soon as I get the necessary spare time (perhaps this weekend) I will use it to flesh out the mega-dungeon of my current Red Box d&d campaign.

I hope you post your results. I had a lot of fun with it, I'm looking forward to trying it again.

Have I? I started the whole "let's play it on a computer screen" variation, and I'm mentioned on the Acknowledgements page.

There's been some discussion here. Since then, I've read it but, so far, RL has prevented any attempt at actually using it. I did, however, send Tony an email letting him know there was positive discussion going on over here... And, looking back on that other post, apparently I never reported out after reading it. Sigh. SO, it's pretty brilliant. It'll definitely create a dungeon with a rich history. And I second chgowiz: please post your results if and when you use it!
