I am pleased to announce that Elf Lair Games has come to an agreement with Timothy Brannan, co-author of the Ghosts of Albion Role playing game, to develop game supplements for the Spellcraft & Swordplay game line. "I have a LOT of ideas," Tim said in a recent discussion. Elf Lair is extremely pleased and excited to have Tim on board. Tim's first project is planned as a sourcebook that will explore witchcraft in an old-school fantasy game. The book will initially be for S&S, but may be dual-statted or released in a separate version for First Edition fantasy games based upon the OSRIC rules set. More details as development progresses. Elf Lair Games is a role playing game company founded in 2008, dedicated to the melding of old-school feel with modern design sensibilities for a fast-play, rules-light experience.

Me, too . Seriously, though...I have big plans. If we can get this into distribution (the ultimate goal) I am looking at ideas for a "Deluxe edition" that will really give the game its own identity, while still maintaining the feel of the old school ideas from which it was drawn.

I just went to your forum and noticed that you do not allow other folk to publish material to support S&S. I've already had a number of people ask me if they could publish material for your system through BHP (although nothing is currently in the works). Let me know if you change your mind.

I don't allow use of the brand, no. But the game does contain a lot of OGC, and there's nothing from stopping folks using said OGC to publish material of their own.
I'm curious as to how much interest there is. I've had one guy ask me about it on my site. You say you've had "a number of people" ask. How many is that, roughly?

Fair enough. It's impressive given the limited exposure the game has had (I'm not overpublicizing it yet deliberately)...but for many of the same reasons, I don't want to saturate the miniscule market for the game with third-party support at this time. I'm thrilled there's people who are that into the game, though. Get them posting on my boards!!! . [EDIT] I've posted a clarification and official policy regarding third-party support on my discussion forums.

Hey all.
Yes, I am very thrilled with this idea and really looking forward to this project.
Jason has been getting me more involved in old D&D now for a while.
I played the "White box" rules once, back in 1986-7 and while it was a great experience, I was deeply set in my ways even then and thought AD&D 1st Ed was the only D&D I'd ever need.
Well that was not to be, thank goodness, and I enjoy all my D&D books from OD&D, Basic all the way up to my newest D&D4 books.
I hope I can write something that does these rules and everyone's expectations justice.
Thanks,
Tim

Tim's project is still in the early stages. Our first sourcebook, Monstrous Mayhem, should be out very soon. I don't want to give exact release dates until it's ready to go, but it's coming along very well.
