I tried Boddington's -- it's not for me.
(I'm drinking a Killian's at the moment.)
But I do agree with the basic sentiment: Happy New Year to all my original D&D friends! Even those I haven't met yet.

Happy 2009!
I'm fighting a nasty head cold I acquired from our 2 1/2 year old, so I didn't partake last night. I almost missed midnight, but as I was fooling with the computer at the time I noticed the clock at about 11:58 and remembered to go and kiss the Wife two minutes later.

Happy New Year to all! It's nice to see so many folks having fun here and hope to provide a fun OD&D environment for many years to come!
The past year brought some OD&D sadness with pioneers like Gary not making it through, so take some time to give thanks to others like Dave Arneson who are still with us and toast to their health.
Gave a great year, folks!

3-4 more issues of Fight On!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

A happy and healthy 2009 to one and all!! My 2009 Gamer's Resolutions: 1. Whittle down my gamer's shelf. I have literally hundreds of games, many of which I know I will never run, so I have been giving games away to my gamer friends based on how much I think they would enjoy the games in question. The condition is that if they ever run a campaign based on a game I give them, I want in 2. Play some more Old School games. With my pulp fantasy OD&D game coming to an end within the next 2 1/2 months, I'm dusting off other old school legends such as T&T and EotPT to take it's place. 3. Make it to a gaming convention. I used to go quite a bit when I was in my early 20's, but between work and family I haven't had a chance to go for something like a decade now. I need to rectify that. 4. Support more fan made publications like Fight On! Seriously, this one is a no-brainer. 5. Honor my wife's wishes to not game past midnight. 6. Get involved in more playtesting. My group was involved in two this year (Arduin Eternal and Doctor Who) and we had a blast! Definitely need to do some more. 7. Get my local game stores to carry some small press and independent games rather than just the Big Names. 8. And keep posting regularly at the OD&D Discussion board. Happy New Year! Doc
