So Elf Lair Games is moving away from Etsy for our swag store (T-shirts, mugs, sneakers, and other ELGear). It's been a long and frustrating journey with Etsy - it started when they said I could cross-list my RPG products over there and thus have a second storefront. What they didn't tell me was that they'd charge a listing fee and take an exhorbitant cut of every sale for every product I cross-listed, even though they had zero to do with any fulfillment there.
I quickly un-linked Square from Etsy after a single Night Shift sale over there that actually cost me money.
Then, we had someone order a t-shirt from us and I got an email yesterday from Printify (my actual production company) that they never received the funds for production. I checked Etsy and suddenly my account was suspended and my store "on vacation." Etsy claimed that I needed to upload a "government issued ID such as a driver's license or passport" to re-open my account...worse, that ID had to be issued to "Elf Lair, LLC."
If someone could tell me how an LLC can have an ID I'd love to hear it.
But wait! It gets worse! I was now well and truly fed up and decided just to dump Etsy. Went through the steps to delete the account, but they refused to delete it. Because apparently I have $6.30 that needs to be withdrawn to my bank account before they can shut it down. But I can't access that $6.30 because my account is suspended. Because Elf Lair, LLC doesn't have a driver's license.
So until that gets sorted, everything is just sitting there on suspension. If it ever gets fixed, Etsy will be deleted entirely.
I did, nowever, discover that Printify now allows (FREE) popup storefront sales directly from them. 5 minutes later, with zero hassle, I was set up. So now you can order our stuff at elf-lair-games.printify.me/products.
Thanks!
