One of the high points of the Map section was the suprise discovery of Glyuathk'th in hex 1603. I am a big fan of the Mythos, and finding an unknown GOO was a bit of a suprise. I had assumed that Glyuathk'th was a part of the Mythos that i had some how missed. it was not until Geoffrey posted the "Names in Carcosa" article on his blog that I realized it was his original work. So I thought I would ask what is known about the space spore that was not presented in Carcosa. I'm not a dragon's foot member, so any tidbits would be nice.
Anyone have a rough pronunciation attemp? I normally have no problem with Lovecraft's tongue twisters, but Glyuathk'th is a tad beyond me.

"GLY-oo-ATH-kith" maybe? Or perhaps "gluh-YOO-uh-THAK-theh" if that last 'th' is intended as an extra syllable.
I have nothing but pity for those poor Mythos scholars who shouldered the Cyclopean task of rendering these alien names into human characters.

One day on dragonsfoot I created Glyuathk'th as an example of the type of god I like in D&D. Melan liked it enough that he adopted it as a god for his own science-fantasy setting of Fomalhaut. I then invented the concept of spores of Glyuathk'th infesting other worlds to answer the question, "How can Glyuathk'th exist on more than one world?" Glyuathk'th reproduces itself (or "clones itself" might be more exact) by spores from its bulk floating into outer space and falling upon other planets, where they grow into another Glyuathk'th. One such spore landed on Fomalhaut, growing into that world's Glyuathk'th. Here's how I pronounce Glyuathk'th: gl - you - ATHK - th In both cases the "th" is soft (i. e., pronounced as in "thin" rather than the hard pronunciation as in "then"). "gl" as in "glow" "you" sounds just like the word "you" Stress is laid upon the "athk" syllable.

Any chance Glyuathk'th is featured in your upcoming Fight On! adventure?

Any chance Glyuathk'th is featured in your upcoming Fight On! adventure? It's not, I'm afraid. However, the module describes a number of interesting areas in hex 2005 of Carcosa Campaign Map One, so Glyuathk'th is only 3 days' travel away.
