Leaving the manor and on the road again

Leaving the town you all head southeast traveling along the main path to eventually the port town of axeport This was liberated from the old one control a few years ago. Now it has promised trade and eventually back to a lawful town. You will reach the town the next evening. As you travel through the day ahead some riders appear. They have the shieldlands standard and are marching toward your caravan. The stop your group and starting to talk to the elven embassador. He then motions you forward with an unhappy look on his face.

Stepping forward the embassador says, " these men are going to escort us to the port. However we are delayed as the ship was having problems with the old one's forces and we are getting a new captain and ship. I will handle the negotiations. However I have need for your group in town. I hate to ask this but the man who put the advance on the ship I owe a favor. His name is Clifton Caldwel. Clifton is an eccentric rich merchant who likes to show how much money he has. He has even gave this patrol leader a message to me. When I read this he said in returning the favor I was to hire adventurers for a task . The task will be short and since we have about a week to clear in this port town. I figured your group can handle this. Clifton said he will pay well and offers a 100 gp to each of you. Interested. "

The ambassador comments, " Clifton will meet us at the Blue Whale inn. We are set to stay there for the duration until our ship has arrived"

The escort guards your night and you travel to the town the rest of the next day. IN the early evening you all arrive in the town. YOu get settled in the Whale inn and are now at a table with a well dressed man by the name of Clifton Caldwell. Clifton says, " hello you must be the adventurers the ambassadors has mentioned. I am a local merchant and recently recently purchased a small castle on the coast located a few miles out of town. The castle had not been occupied for some time. I purchased the castle for a ridiculously high price as I had to have this. But when I visit my new home, it was overun by monsters! I was lucky to escape with his life. I need adventurers to rid the castle of its monstrous inhabitants so i can move in. I can offer you 100 gold pieces apiece, in addition of course, to all the treasure you find. Accept the furniture. Does this sound agreeable."

[Dohojar]

"Well what kind of monsters are we talking about here?" asks Torlak. "I don't want to go up there expecting to kill some orcs or goblins only to come face to face with a dragon".

Clifton says, " I saw goblins and some evil men. But I think I might saw a very big man too. I am not trained in combat."

[xerxez]

"I am willing," says Tethwan. "Goblins don't frighten me after dealing with the wolf-witch. The terms are generous."

"It's what we do" says Palandar, projecting a confidence he is not quite sure he feels

"A hard choice" says Palandar. "Daylight is easier, but perhaps night time means we can sneak up on them. What do the rest think?"

"Anytime is a good time to kill goblins. And the sooner the better".

So leaving.now takes about a 10 min walk or waiting. Its about 7 pm and u have full spells
