Analysis of 0e Spell Progressions

A review of the '73 D&D draft shows a development in the clerical and magic-user spell progressions that ended up in the '74 Volume 1. There has been some discussion whether or not there was a typo in the 0e clerical spell progression, so I offer this analysis of the spell progressions. I am re-posting some of my posts in another thread here to remove any concerns about side-tracking . . . thank you . . .

Here is an analysis of the clerical spell progression per '74 volume 1:

Volume 1:
1st: 0 = +0 spells = +0 spell levels
2nd: 1 = +1 spell: 1 x 1 = +1 spell level
3rd: 2 = +1 spell: 1 x 1 = +1 spell level
4th: 2,1 = +1 spell: 1 x 2 = +2 spell levels
5th: 2,2 = +1 spell: 1 x 2 = +2 spell levels
6th: 2,2,1,1 = +2 spells: 1 x 3, 1 x 4 = +7 spell levels
7th: 2,2,2,1,1 = +2 spells: 1 x 3, 1 x 5 = +8 spell levels
8th: 2,2,2,2,2 = +2 spells: 1 x 4, 1 x 5 = +9 spell levels
9th: 3,3,3,2,2 = +3 spells: 1 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x 3 = +6 spell levels
