Spend at least as much time talking about it with the other players as actually spent playing it.

Everyone around the space (table, Screens, etc.) including the GM says, "I never thought we'd still be playing after this long!?".

Can't focus on work because you're constantly plotting and planning what will happen next in your campaign....

Fall to sleep at night plotting, planning, engaging in 'coulda-woulda-shoulda' over details of the latest campaign action

I knew I was running a good campaign when I found out mt players were getting together a couple hours a week to come up with plans to approach whatever was coming up next. Good times...

Spend at least as much time talking about it with the other players as actually spent playing it. Sadly, this is also a sign of a BAD campaign. We have what used to be a good campaign, then one of the players had a major hissy, now we're constantly discussing how a good campaign has become crapified. Working to fix it, but who knows.

...when the campaign engages the players and they keep coming up with great ideas to interact with the game world. - Also, as a DM, this is great because most stories don't have to be prepared a lot. "It was all just a bad dream..." What kind of "major hissy" would that be, if I may ask, that "crapifies" a good campaign? In my experience, it's often an issue of the player, not of the campaign.

Similar to my own experience, tho' a few times, the hissy highlighted problems with the game being played that we'd not really paid much mind to. (TN 6 vs TN7 in Shadowrun, Demeanor in VTM) Still, was time to ditch the player, because their method was disruptive.

We had an hour long chance to discuss the campaign and one player unloaded on pretty much everyone with his grievances where he felt disrespected, etc. He lashed out at the DM and made the women at the table want to cry. Our DM gave him a second chance because he is a nice guy, but we're all walking on eggshells now around the player. Ugh. I've had a few times in my gaming career where I misjudged whether a player was mature or not. Most of the times you can spot the immature players and work with them to overcome their issues. This one caught me by surprise.
