I play with a group that loves variety, and the idea of a two class game has been about the only complaint about Carcosa (or as one of my players constantly complains a one and a half.) This was the primary reason I came up with the Changeling idea, but another simpler method would seem to simply allow other OD&D classes in to the game.
I'm not a fan of thieves being as tough as fighters however, so I was wondering how others would handle hit points for such characters. Halving the result (rounding up) for the dice type roll might work, but the averages would end up a little odd. Any other ideas?

Important pages for this type of consideration are pp. 17-18 of Men & Magic. 1. If you want to create or import a physically tough character class into Carcosa, use the "Dice for Accumulative Hits" in the fighting-men table. 2. If you want to create or import a physically weak character class into Carcosa, use the "Dice for Accumulative Hits" in the magic-users table. 3. If you want to create or import a physically so-so character class into Carcosa, use the "Dice for Accumulative Hits" in the clerics table. In the case of a thief, I'd use the magic-users' table, since in Supplement I: GREYHAWK both thieves and magic-users use 4-sided dice for hit points. Of course, one can modify the above three tables as desired. CARCOSA's dice conventions can be used without alteration by using this method of determining HD for additional classes.
