Hi Everyone,
I only have access to a later printing of the 3LBBs, so I’ve never been able to conduct my own side-by-side comparisons. One curiosity I have concerns the equipment list. For those of you that have access to the various printings, have there been any changes to the equipment list across the various printings? For example, any items added later? Thanks in advance.
Peace, RC

Offhand, I can't think of any changes to the LBBs themselves. Holmes did copy most of the table over into Holmes Basic, and then Gary added one item, a Tinderbox for 3 gp. There is a deeper dive into the other minor changes between the LBB equipment list and the one in Holmes on my blog. In fact, I just recently revised/expanded this section of this post: zenopusarchives.blogspot.com/2013/11/part-4-and-half-human-half-serpent-naga.html

The funny thing to me is that in all those years of playing, no one thought to add a grappling hook to the list. That was one of the first things my group tried to buy.

@zenopus Thanks! I’ll definitely check out your analysis. Overlooked the addition of that Tinderbox.
@finarvyn Right! I guess there is always the makeshift grappling hook made with some rope, an iron spike, and a healthy dose of luck.
Peace

I compared the list in the first print to a later printing and found a single change. The cost of a Spear was initially 2 gp (in the first print), and was changed at some point to 1 gp (the later print).
This explains why Holmes has the Spear at 2 gp instead of 1 gp. Need to revise my post now!

Curious that there was only a single price change in the list to one weapon (the spear), and a rather insignificant price change at that. Revision or typo/error? Whatever the case, would seem to support your claim that Holmes was working with the first printing of 3LBBs.
