Can this spell like with AD&D 1e's continual light be cast on a pebble or person so that the 15' radius circle of effect can be moved?

From the spell description in the AD&D 1E PHB: Edit: So the answer to the OP is Yes. Just to be clear

Point of order— In Classic D&D, the answer isn’t clear. The spell description seems to imply that it is cast within a given area, but also provides for a saving throw if cast on a creature. Casting it on an object is not addressed. (X11, RC35) So it’s up to the DM. It would seem that since a creature is an object which can move, then it stands to reason that if the spell can be cast on a creature, it could be cast on any other movable object. But one could also argue that the spell makes no mentions of other objects at all, so therefore the spell can’t be cast on objects which are not creatures. Might be one to ask someone from TSR back in the day as to how they played it, if you’re interested. Personally, I like the AD&D rule, and would transfer it to Classic. I’ve always been a fan of the silenced crossbow bolt shot into the evil shaman to spoil his spell casting tactic.

(X11, RC35) Also interesting in that regard, reading the RC: The saving throw does not negate the spell, but a failed save means that the spell will travel with the creature. A successful save therefore means that the spell stays in pace, but the creature can move out of its range.

So, theoretically, one could carry around a hedgehog, cast the spell on the hedgehog, and throw the hedgehog at the enemy where its spikes become entangled in the enemy’s hair/fur/nasty shaman robes. Roll for initiative!
