And here...we...go! Please share this info EVERYWHERE! I am pleased to officially announce the release party for the official Night Shift: Veterans of the Supernatural Wars mead: Twilight Queen on October 8! This release makes us the first ever tabletop role playing game company to have our own official mead! Even better, the mead connects with the game, as the favorite drink of Maeve Antinea, the woman who calls the shots, and the Twilight Queen herself, served in Club Khalsa, the most popular nightclub/watering hole in the City. This mead, a collaboration with Apis Mead & Winery, is a buckwheat mead with black cherries, vanilla, allspice and cinnamon. Thanks to our "secret ingredient," it appears nearly black or blood red, depending on which way the light hits it. The perfect drink for your Halloween or horror/dark fantasy gaming event! The release party will be at Apis on Saturday, October 8, from 2:00 PM until whenever. We will have gaming events and giveaways, and both the mead and the game will be on sale! Our friends from Drawbridge Games will be on site as well! Please save the date and stop down! And if you can't make it, Apis can ship to any state that is allowed, through Vinoshipper!  |

I should also mention here that this is not just me slapping my company name on something. I'm a meadmaker and have been for about 15 years. I collaborated closely with Apis on every aspect of this, from the initial flavor profile to the level of spice and flavoring in it, adjusting, and the entire process of brewing the beverage. This is very much an Elf Lair creation as much as it is an Apis Mead, and after several rounds of tasting and tweaking, I am absolutely confindent in saying IT IS A WINNER.

Sounds like a neat thing and I love the name of the brew, but since I don't drink alcohol my enthusiasm is more for your success than for the product itself. Mead is something like beer, yes?

And if you have at least 5 mods (min. $100 order), I THINK you would get free shipping from Vinoshipper. Again, though, don't quote me on that. |

Our Twilight Queen Release Party event at Apis Mead & Winery (which I am also retroactively designating the first ever Elf Lair Con, sponsored by Drawbridge Games) went GREAT! We sold a lot of books, had several tables running the game for about 5 hours (thanks to my GMs Ross, Taej, and Robert). It was the experience of a lifetime!
Best of all, we sold through ALL BUT 10 bottles of the mead! It sold so well, Apis had to remove it from Vinoshipper. If you weren't able to get it there as a result, fear not: it will return, but they need to bottle more, which probably will happen in a week or two. If you already ordered, fear not: your orders have been set aside and will be shipped.

I cannot promise, or even indicate likelihood that it will happen, but I have now begun considering a formal Elf Lair Con to be held at Apis. I'd have to talk to Dave, though he has plenty of space for a small (a few hundred people) convention upstairs. A lot of cleanup/revamp work needs to be done up there before it could host people, however. But then I know ZERO About the logistics of setting up and running a con. And Apis is expressly a 21+ venue, so that would limit audience. It's something I may broach to him sometime to see what he thinks. |

Cancer is rampant in my family so I try to mitigate the risk. They are mostly for display these days. Thank you! Yes, it was a great event. |
