I have a favor to ask from my OD&D friends. One of our own (Jasson Vey, a.k.a. =thegreyelf) has a new-ish urban fantasy RPG that I think deserves a little more recognition. While not a clone game, Night Shift has a very old school vibe and relies heavily on the familiarity of the editions that we love here. I have been running a game which was supposed to be more like Dresden Files but instead has warped (thanks to my wife and sister) into something more like Charmed. No matter, I have found that Night Shift has become my go-to game for modern-day fantasy sessions and I'd love for more folks to hear about it. So here's the favor: I'm asking folks here to hop over to DriveThru and "buy" a copy of Jason's quick start product (link below). It's a "pay what you want" so you can pay zero if you want. Look the thing over and then post a (hopefully positive) review. The number of downloads will help Night Shift get noticed more, and the number of (hopefully positive) reviews should as well. Be honest. If you think Jason's game sucks then post that. I think, however, that it's an awesome game and folks on this board will love it. www.drivethrurpg.com/product/290972/Night-Shift-Veterans-of-the-Supernatural-Wars-Quick-Start-KitI posted this in General so that it would be seen more, but after a while I will move it to Jason's sub-forum.

Love Jason's work at Elf Lair and TLG, and the only reason I have not picked up NS is the modern urban fantasy/horror genre is totally not my thing.
That said, I'll go dl a copy to help the #s. I encourage others to check out his Spellcraft & Swordplay game. It's a very cool riff on Chainmail combat (and he has a new version coming soon as well). He also has Amazing Adventures (Pulp adventure, and more my style for Horror along with CoC) over at Troll Lord Games- in C&C compatible (yay!) and 5E compatible (boo!) versions.

I'm like jeffb, this sort of game isn't really my cup of tea. That being said, it seems one of the core tenets to old school gaming is to encourage creativity. It only seems right to support others endeavors that have been long time contributors to the forum. And who knows, maybe there's some hidden gem in the quick start that can be ported over to other games. So, no review here but one more dl to fill the pot. Best of luck Jason.

Not sure, but it seems to me that I read someplace that you have to pay at least 0.01/1 cent for the download to count in the way you want it to. I have looked at it a few times, but never pulled the trigger, I will reconsider.
