English measurements become metric in some cases in the 1981 edition; starship encounter tables are revised to make encountering pirates more likely away from the better starports; a table for generating trade routes is replaced by something on jump courier routes. There’s a little more Third Imperium and a little less expectation of DIY, but it’s 95% the same. I’m intended to get the POD so that I have a compact copy that I don’t need to worry about spilling coffee on, or getting it beat up in my briefcase/travel bag.

Since it consists of Books 1-3, if you already have them, the only other information in there would be the errata. I ordered a POD because I have a use for a paper copy…

As I understand it, it's the same 1981 version, but you'll be paying $1 for all the 3 books instead of $6 each and the taxt has been corrected.

For folks wondering about the different versions of Classic Traveller I offer my Traveller Section by Section Comparison. At least some of the errata is included in that comparison so you can get an idea of how this version of Classic Traveller might be slightly different than the original 1981 books. Frank

Frank The amount of work this comparison might have taken sounds unreasonable, this is a masterpiece! Do you have some more Traveller material?

One page has links to lots of Traveller blogs and other stuff. Also a page for my campaign. ffilz.github.io/Gaming/Gaming.html

My Print-On-Demand copy of the Books 1-3 rules compilation arrived today. At the original digest size, the scanned and printed copy is reasonably sharp and legible. The one exception is the blank subsector map on p13 of Book 3. The thin lines and small print of the hex numbers apparently didn’t scan well. As you would have a hard time squishing the book into a copier without breaking the binding, that seems to me to be a fairly minor point.

Speaking of squishing the book, now that I have played with it a bit, my other observation on the format is that it will be hard to hold the book open for tings like character generation, given the binding. Nevertheless, I’m (very idly) daydreaming a Traveller campaign…

About 20 years ago I spent some quality time with Adobe Illustrator and the forms in the LBBs — I recreated them pretty faithfully I think. They are hosted here: signalgk.zhodani.space

They are hosted here: signalgk.zhodani.spaceTo be honest I find this more useful than the POD book I ordered. As someone above mentioned, the printing wasn't flawless. It's a useable tome but feels cheap. Still somewhat handy. I do like little digest sized books.
