[First 5 Fantasy Roleplaying](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/275737/First-Five-Fantasy-Roleplaying?src=savevsplayeragency) along with the [Player's Guide](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/257346/First-Five-Fantasy-Roleplaying-Players-Guide?src=savevsplayeragency) by [Andrew Marrington](https://www.savevsplayeragency.net/save-vs-player-agency/) is a retroclone of [D&D (1991)](https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-New-Easy-to-Master-Dungeons-and-Dragons-Board-Game-1070-1991-TSR-Complete-/174884614398?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0), which is both the fifth introductory box set (Black Box D&D) and takes players through levels 1 to 5 before encouraging players to continue their characters using the [Dungeons & Dragons Game Rules Cyclopedia](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/17171/DD-Rules-Cyclopedia-Basic?affiliate_id=203809). It often gets mislabled as a boardgame (it's in a long box), but it's actually a full-fledged levels 1-5 Basic D&D set with cardstock minis, a player-facing grid map (another reason for the mislabel), DM screen, introductory adventure, step by step rules cards, a sweet poster, and dice.
