So as long as I've been here I only just recently noticed there is an exclusive Group known as The Regular Patron Group. The mystery of this secret cabal aroused my curiosity. I wondered, who could it be? What do they do? When in the forgotten past did they form? Where do they meet? And most importantly WHY?

I'm so glad I'm not part of the Group because I am sure it is way more interesting in my fevered imagination than it is in reality.
This is what they do: Secret rituals. Dancing with Nymphs around a fire in the woods at night. Drinking the nectar of the sacred fruit. Chanting incantations to call on the great beyond. Talk to each other in the forgotten language of the ancients. Retell the legends of the great Regular Patrons of the past. Pillow fights.

It's the White Glove Society from Fallout: New Vegas.

Someone managed to capture a live Regular Patron group meeting. Let us listen in on what it is they do:
Oh, wait, that's a secret meeting of powerful politicians and the rich pretending to sacrifice to Moloch.
Here is an actual Regular Patron group meeting:

This is my favorite thread I've ever started here. Too bad it didn't get more attention. Maybe that's intentional.

Being part of the Illuminati of OD&D I can't say I've heard of them.
But I can't really say much at all...
The Cthulhu connection seems way off, but that was removed with hobbits and Elric before I joined.

But I can't really say much at all... I love the mystery! Fertile ground for my imagination. Like listening to Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell in the '90's.

Hadn't thought of Coast to Coast in forever. Loved listening to that show growing up. I miss that show so much, after Art Bell left it was never the same, or as good. Even though I don't believe in little green aliens, and I think the likeliest explanation for UFO's is they are military aircraft in development and the like. And I certainly don't believe in sasquatches, ghosts, or any of that nonsense. But I love imagining they do, like I use to enjoy imagining being in a galaxy far far away and learning the Force.

Kinda how I felt about it. I didn't believe in 98% of the stuff talked about, but boy was it fun to play along for a couple hours and wonder what if.

It was great how you couldn't tell if Art Bell believed what a guest was saying or not. He was very good at poker. I once sent him a fax that he read on air. I had a question for a guess talking about "auras" and I asked if it could be mistaken for the effect of simultaneous contrast - you know, when you stare at a color and start seeing an afterimage of the opposite color.

One of my favorite things about this thread is how no one from The Regular Patron group has chimed in. Which confirms all the conspiracy theories about them.
