Funded in about 5 minutes I believe (EDIT-17min). Like the format, but too steep for me to go in on a shelf-queen. 3E

Yeah, it's not surprising to me in the least that this got funded so fast. It's usually in the top five selling products in the OSR, somewhere around DCC and Stars Without Number levels. I'd love to try it out someday because I do love the Conan-style setting and genre. I don't feel in a big hurry to spend money on it, though. I have a feeling it'll be around for a long time.

I personally am fine with the 1E PDFs. I prefer it over the second edition, I think they are still available on drive thru for a reasonable cost. The game is probably the most well written "retro clone/further development" of any "OSR" game out there, AFAIC . Reading AS&SH feels like I stepped back to 1979. There's a reason Gary worked with Jeff T. I do wish I had sprung for the 1E boxed set when they were discounted towards the end of inventory. 1E had 2 spiral bound volumes, and I love spiral bound! Also I much prefer the unified artwork of 1E vs 2E (which had several artists with very different styles, which I never care for in an RPG product)

Saw this fun interview at Captcorajus' channel the other day Yep, watched that the other night. Always enjoy listening to Jeff T. Whether you like ASSH or not, it's a good interview if you like OS gaming, pulp literature, etc.

Checking out some of the updates for artwork- It's looking a lot like the 2E book- a real mixed bag- I love the comic artist person (Val?), but not the one doing the Class illustrations and whoever else it was who did the covers for the 2E and 3E books.
I really miss the artist who did all the work for the 1st edition of AS&SH- It was much more 1977 Monster Manual Sutherland-esque in "feel", with better proficiency.

Under 40 Hours now. Well over 150K- I'm happy for Jeff T.- Great designer and seems like a standup guy!

Man, it feels like 2nd edition just came out yesterday... I'm still stuck in 1E land, myself. Nifty little game.

I'm still stuck in 1E land, myself. Nifty little game. I have 1st and 2nd, but haven't played either yet. I skimmed through a bit, it all looks pretty cool.

Have there been any major changes between 1, 2, and 3? I have each/backed 3, but unfortunately never played. Jeff T's incredible customer service during 1e won me as someone who will continue to buy.

Changes are fairly minimal beyond presentation from what I have seen. I still play 1st Ed for similar reasons noted by others. I have the 3rd Ed players book. Differences I’ve spotted are; some classes reworked a bit, monk in particular. 2 phase system dropped from combat. If I went through with a comb I might find more. The main thing is art, formatting and two volume hard bound for 3rd Ed.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking "yes".... then I saw Index Card RPG and the analysis paralysis set in. Will have to ponder on this.

Yeah, after reading some of the reviews, I'm not sure if I really need to upgrade...

Yeah, after reading some of the reviews, I'm not sure if I really need to upgrade... Yeah. I don't feel any need at all. It would just be a shelf queen for me (or "folder queen" in the case of PDFs)
