Howdy all, I just wanted to say to the people of this forum that it was the excitement and promise of future development that helped convince me to purchase Delving Deeper That, combined with some correspondence with John. I was going to go with Labyrinth Lord but after reading through as much original D&D stuff I could find I became interested in going even further back (I have been a 2e / 3.x player for the most part). The box set sounds amazing as does the whole presentation of the game. (Friendly booklets as opposed to oppressive tomes). Anyways, I could gush about my excitement for this to be released all day but I had a question: I purchase a Delving Deeper box set last week, using a friend's Paypal account. Do I still get the "pre-release PDFs" to look at or was that for people who pre-ordered or did a kickstarter? If I do get DPFs, would they be sent to my friend's email account? Do I request them? Thanks all!

Thank you for the kind words, Idrahil. I will have to let John answer your questions but I wanted to thank you for your custom.

I was going to go with Labyrinth Lord but after reading through as much original D&D stuff I could find I became interested in going even further back... I'm glad you found this place and are interested in DD. I'd like to mention, however, that Labyrinth Lord is also an excellent rules system. And one with a supplement on how to play "classic" D&D style games. Not to chase you away from DD, you understand. Just wanted to let you know that LL is a great option as well. What I do is take several rules sets and sift through them for parts I like, then smoosh them together into a homebrew campaign. I like parts of OD&D and C&C and LL and DCC and more. (I haven't had a chance to do anything with DD yet, but it's on my "to do" list. )

Yes, I want to echo Marv's sentiments here. I'm a big fan of both Labyrinth Lord and Delving Deeper. I also DM them both. But both! (and support your locals!)

Thanks for the comments! Like everyone I only have so many gold pieces to my name and I had been buying modules and adventures that looked interesting and was really happy. I was going to purchase the LL hard cover rules but in the end I went with DD. I will add things and hope to post some class ideas I have here for DD. But the presentation of the box set and what was going into those sets was too good to pass up. I figure it will be easier to sprinkle in changes and additions rather than try and remove them. As for buying both, Goblinoid Games is re-releasing the oldschool art cover of LL rules so maybe I will get that too
