Being completely wet behind the ears as a new member, I thought I would just ask, instead of doing something and asking for forgiveness, I know, I know I'm odd.
If I am reading a really old thread, guessing anything from over a year old back to the beginning of the forum, is the custom to "Cast Raise Dead" on the old thread and continue with the new comment/question or to start a new thread and link to the old thread in the new OP and quote the original OP in the new OP?

Welcome, @sonofbear!
Bumping an old thread is fine here. In fact, I will sometimes merge a new thread with an older one that covers the same topic.

Thread necromancy is great. I love it when old topics come back for new members to get involved.

Thread necromancy is great. I love it when old topics come back for new members to get involved. Agreed. I'd much rather see the discussion on an old topic than a new thread on the same topic. Learn from the wisdom of the past.

Make sure you precisely intone the correct Latin expressions while standing within your protective ring, lest all hell break loose and every single dead thread push up from the pungent earth to seek the throats of the quick! Beware! Beeeewwwaaaaaarrrrreeeee!!! Oh, and welcome.
