Secrets of Blackmoor posted on facebook that tomorrow (April 17, 2021) marks the 50th Anniversary of the Blackmoor campaign. I know that the exact date is somewhat unknown, but I plan to run my group through some sort of Blackmoor adventure tomorrow. And wear my Blackmoor t-shirt that I got when I bought the DVD.
Anyone else plan something Blackmoor based for the occasion?

Family is planning to play some OD&D today and I will be tossing in as many Blackmoor references as possible.

I'm pretty sure the participants in my current game have spotted various Blackmoor references already. I've definitely had this important date in mind for a while.

There was a note on a door about the holy water sprinkler services of a certain group of elves today. My wife and daughter also considered using the four Super Berries they collected a while back.

Good times. I wonder when the Blue Rider will ride again...

Yesterday a long-unseen friend of mine came by. We decided to honor Dave's memory by playing a quick session.
My friend took his old OD&D character (F-M 6). I found an old map and a flyer from one of the castles I visited last year, made up some plot (he was to collect 7 Dragon Balls to open the Magic Gate). We used 2d6-based combat (target numbers to-hit taken from Megarry's DUNGEON!). Ruined castle was named Blackmoor. The map even included the Temple of the Frog (abandoned).
Myrmidon Dalibor did the job. In the process he vanquished 2 vampires, 1 troll, 7 ghouls, 3 mummies, 5 gargoyles and 1 giant, gaining treasure of 9290 GP.
It was a good play.

My group has been playing a lot of sessions in Blackmoor. Yesterday, their characters finished up the Sunless Citadel, which I had placed not far from Lake Gloomy, and the neat thing is that the final battle included a giant frog. Highly reminiscent of our recent Temple of the Frog adventure. I think Dave would have liked it.

This was actually pretty perfect timing... I put a portal to the Blackmoor/Thonia lands in some ruins over a month ago ... and in yesterday's game, after clearing out the rest of the area, the PCs went through!

BTW Have you noticed the date of 1970 in the original announcement? It seems that Dave made a mistake
