I guess Chris must have been exposed to the 2nd edition of The Black Hack, which I'm not familiar with. I'm pretty sure there are ranged combat rules in there, though, so perhaps the improv referee just didn't use them? The 1st edition is considerably smaller, and awesomely easy to "whip out and run". The 1st edition also inspired a whole lot of hacks of the system, like Cthulhu Hack, the Rad Hack, and an interesting little Holmes-inspired one called BLUEHACK™ ...

Don't know for sure, but the vide I got seemed to imply the 1E version. I'll assume Bluehack has 5 point alignment, or Liz will be disappointed! LOL

I have BH 2e on my shelf and the ranged rules are iirc the same as in 1E? As in, range attacks are roll under DEX, same as ranged defense. I think. Don't quote me on that. I may be remembering 1e or Rad Hack.

Sounds reasonable...I need to give this a look-see. Though my brain is still recovering from the Dresden Files RPG review from last night. Mike
