Vile Traveller Traveller Sorry about that! Like I said, I only did the few I already had read and/or could find on the net easily. Which one do you want me to add? thegreyelfI could have done your whole collection (like the Conan one), but in any cases I didn't want to overcrowd the list with your excellent material lol. I can add all of them to the list if you point me to which one you would like to see there. waysoftheearthYes sorry about that. It's the limitation. I suggest going on the blog, opening the picture, downloading it and checking it out from there. grodogSorry about that. I'll take any suggestions!

I was actually referring to Spellcraft & Swordplay, my simulacrum game that was one of the first 3 or 4 released back in 08 or 09, not my OD&D Age of Conan stuff.

thegreyelfLol! I don't know all of them unfortunately. Sorry about that: 08/09 is very early! I didn't know about this. I'll try to get my hand on it and add it to my list of to-read (an ever growing list, let's be honest!) and eventually add it to my comparison.

Starting tomorrow, all of my stuff on DTRPG (except Night Shift, which is brand new) is going to be on sale in PDF for 50% off. See the link to Elf Lair Games in my signature

waysoftheearthYes sorry about that. It's the limitation. I suggest going on the blog, opening the picture, downloading it and checking it out from there. Thanks for the tip. I downloaded the image; when I magnify it to 200% it's quite blurry, but just about readable. I'm not qualified to have an opinion on the other games but a couple of comments on the Delving Deeper row for your interest: XP: DD4 has 100 XP per monster HD per M&M p18. GH (p12) has a different scale of XP per monster HD (starting from 5 XP for defeating a 1/2 HD monster). Max level: Both the 3LBBs and DD4 are explicit that there is no level limit for humans (M&M p19, RRC p19). Dungeon/Wilderness Procedures: Could be useful to split these into generation procedures and gameplay moderation procedures? Combat Procedure: FWIW, the 3LBB "default" combat is (most likely) a 2d6-based game largely per CM's man-to-man/FCT tables, with "alternative" (d20) to hit matrices added. Most of the 3LBB adjustments appear to be on the 2d6 scale (e.g., 3LBB +1, +2, +3 magic weapons/armor line up neatly with CM's magic weapon adjustments). GH introduces d20-scaled adjustments. While "no other rules provided" is approximately true, the reader is referred to CM for many of these other rules. FWIW, GH's weapon vs armor chart is also based on the 2d6-based chart in CM (CM3 p41). Non-Human Race: I'm pleased you noted DD "added implied benefits from Chainmail" but (for me) these are more than implied. E.g., M&M (p8) is explicit that player elves have advantages noted in CM, and M&T (p5) says all monster abilities are generally as indicated in CM. Classes: Note DD4's thief is "optional"; DD5's thief is in an appendix. Dual/Multiclass: The 3LBBs (M&M p10) are explicit that--although not recommended--humans can change class. Ability Score Modifiers: 3-8 is low, 13-18 is high (M&M p11). Except for charisma, the 3LBB ability score modifiers are pretty consistent for the type of die modified. Intelligence adds languages for all players, including spellcasters (M&M p12). Intelligence also adjusts effective prime requisite for fighters and clerics; wisdom also adjusts effective prime requisite for fighters and M-Us (M&M p10). Pretty sure that DD4 excludes this latter detail. Starting THAC0: The best AC in the 3LBBs is 2 so perhaps THAC2 would be more relevant? From memory, THACx wasn't "a thing" until AD&D. Fighter: What to say? See here. Hirelings/NPC: FWIW, the rules for enlisting monsters are also from the 3LBBs (M&M p12: "Monsters can be lured into service..."). Hope that helps some

You might want to look at Iron Falcon as another OD&D retroclone.

I hope we're not giving you too much negativity here, davidbrodeur! Obviously leaving out BLUEHOLME™ is a major ommission, but apart from that I applaud your work here! Have you tried adding a PDF to your post, which would be easier to read?

Yeah, great point Vile. Apologies David if I went on a "detail rant". I tend to do that... can't help myself. Love your work; just trying to assist you to tighten up some of those devilish details

waysoftheearth @viletraveller No it's perfect. I like criticism and corrections. It's a WIP. I'm taking notes of it. Also PDF is probably the best idea. I liked the idea of having it all in one glance picture, but I ended up with too many things. Since I'm adding new things, I don't think I'll have the choice for the next iteration to have it all formatted differently.
