"We're heading to our ship right now. Now I'm not the captain, and I don't have the final say, but I suspect we'll find a place for you there." "Ah, wonderful, wonderful. Thank you." to Sharron he asks, "So this ship of yours--is it pretty nice?"

Ok, everyone makes it back to the ship.
Come up with a plan, and let's move things along.

We need a layout of that clinic, including whatever defenses it has.

OOC: I (but maybe not Thaddeus) remember an issue of the Traveller's Aid Society that had face shield PPE against psionics. Whether they really worked or not I don't know. Frank, is anti-psionic gear for reals in this campaign as far as our characters know? Would be helpful for any reconnaissance.

Albert and Lukasz were doing some research on psionics though and do know that there are severe limits to psionic surveillance.

What sort of limits?

Albert and Lukasz haven’t established anything firm but definitely continuous use of psionic powers is not possible and powers in general need to be targeted at individuals.

So if we went in disguised as garbage men or something, we might not draw enough interest to warrant a scan...

Logan muses, "Seems to me if these folks are psychic, they'd know we don't mean anybody any harm. We just want to make sure Sharon's friend Janet is okay and to find and deliver a letter to that guy from his wife. Right?"
"Oh and welcome to the crew." Logan says to the new guy, "What's your name again?"

"It's whether these guys care whether we mean harm or not that concerns me," says Zeb. "They were more than willing to use force even at the hospital, when we were making simple inquiries. I'm convinced they're up to no good and are willing to kill in order to keep their secrets."

"They must be stopped! If they're psychic then they'll know we won't blow their bits off as long as we get what we came for. If they think they'd rather have their bits blown off, well…"

"Nice ship you got here, much obliged to throw in my lot with y'all."

"Good to meet you, Logan! My old mum calls me Teddy, but either Thaddeus or Pryce is fine. I guess I had a drink or two too many and got left behind when my unit mustered out. But I'm pretty handy with a blade, and I've never gotten too scared when it comes to fighting."

"Well my friends, I suggest we do a little old fashioned recon. Stake the place out for a few days, record how many entrances, who is coming and going and when, where the security cams are, what time the guards come and go, what day the waste is removed... that sort of thing. I'd be happy to head down there straight away. Also I don't know enough about our little group here to get us in hot water if I get scanned."

"Excellent, I'll be in touch!" Thaddeus grabs an armload of MREs, especially the stroganoff, and the latest edition of the TNS, and throws them in his backpack as he heads out. On the way he will purchase a couple different hats (safari, baseball/engineer's, maybe a turban, and he makes his way for the clinic. He will try to be as nonchalant as possible and stroll around counting entrances, sit at a bench eating a bagel, and try to learn everything he can about the layout and occupancy of the clinic.

While the smarty pantses in the party do their fancy footwork, Sharon keeps a lookout by the entry hatch with her pistol ready, in case we get any company before vacating the port.

Just checking: Have we refueled yet? Because that's kind of important if we're going to do anything extreme, like actually raising ship or anything.
(It's been so long I don't actually remember.)
If we haven't, I'll get that started so we can have a bit of freedom of action.

How much firepower do we have in case we have to go in or get out shooting? I know the ship doesn't have any weapons, so how much firepower is in our personal gear? Finding out how much firepower these guys have would be a plus.

So remember you only have an hour or so before the clerk comes round, and then he can identify you and they would be able to link things back pretty quickly to your ship. Thaddeus hasn't been identified or tied to you folks yet, and the professor has never left the ship.
You could just hole up in the ship and hope for the best, or you could leave.
One option is to leave the air/raft in a back alley with a couple crew while the ship takes off and lands in the outback and have Thaddeus do the recon. Then you just need to slip out with the air/raft.
I've got ideas on how to get things moving if you come up with a decent plan on how to manage the timeline. You've got some good ideas on getting into the center, so you can assume if Thaddeus does some recon, that will be successful and you then will just need to plan your actual extrication of Janet.
[doing my best to recover and get things moving.]

What we need is a specific code for Thaddeus to use to let us know:
a) that he's ready for pickup, or
b) that he's been caught, or
c) something else we hadn't planned for.
I'd rather not leave the air/raft in an alley where someone could stumble upon it. I'd rather send it out once we've cleared port and are away from any goons they might send round to investigate.
Is there a handy mountain/large hill nearby, that I could fly around/past and dip down, letting the air/raft out without necessarily being on the starport's radar? (Bit of a long shot, but I have to ask.)

Well, I had suggested leaving the air/raft in a back alley with crew, so if someone stumbled on it, depending on the reaction, they could deal with it or not. But yea, you could also fly it in when needed.
Yea, you can use terrain to advantage.

(Bit of a long shot, but I have to ask.) Good thinking. How about: a) squelching Morse code "PU" over our comm link. b) squelching "SOS" over the comm. c) squelching "B" over the comm, and/or saying, "FUBAR! [insert description of unplanned situation here]!" I'm figuring that the squelches could be done quickly and easily by hand without drawing attention to himself or making noise.
