So I dusted off some of my Traveller stuff and came across snapshot. My question to the collective is, do we have the first "attack of opportunity" with the "snap attack"?? Or, was that established in another game previously?

Well, TRACTICS has "cover fire," where you designate a zone and any unit moving through that zone is subject to fire in the movement phase instead of later in the fire phase.

I figured there might be another instance of similar response fire, thanks! The difference here is that the snap attack is always associated with the immediate space around the responder as opposed to selecting a zone as you described from Tractics.

Yea, cover fire definitely was present earlier than Snapshot, but I can't think of anything that might be an earlier attack of opportunity than this.

Snapshot also has one of my all-time favorite actions.
"Expletive: Not properly a movement, expletive is the venting of frustration and anger when a character is not capable of using his action points efficiently."
