This film is currently on Amazon and is apparently first in a trilogy.
You want a fantasy film good for the whole family that entertains and enchants, this simple tale of a no account farmer’s son rescuing a princess from a troll is fresh.
It is lush in rich visual depth and uses stunning locales which are hard to believe exist in real life , has great acting, limited use of better than usual CGI, and is funny in the same way as the Princess Bride.
Based on a Norwegian folk hero, there are so many positive themes here and also it’s just fun.
Castles, tavern brawls, lake and river spirits, beguiling magical forest nymphs, magic swords, and heroes plunging through marshes and forests in search of a stubborn but beautiful princess— should please any D&D’er!
Highly recommend!

I also discovered that a sequel was filmed this past year and is due for release sometime next year, so something to look forward to!

Yep, there was much cheering and excitement from the kids when I told them that this was planned to be a trilogy.
