We are slowly getting people's emails and mulling stuff over. "Day job" work commitments are brutal and I have some personal business that is taking a lot of welcome time and energy too. So it's not moving fast, but I am trying to move #15 forward at long last.

Huzzah!
Question: Will Alex Schroeder's Caverns of Slime be a part of #15? I'm, uh, asking for a friend. Who is me. I'm that friend.

Will this issue contain the final level of the megadungeon?

Will this issue contain the final level of the megadungeon? Is there really such a thing? Allan.

Ahh, Zeligar from B1! Or, maybe some other spell slinger/dungeon builder?

That is a great picture!
I have been working on this today. I re-obtained the Acrobat software for making PDFs. I'll have something somewhat fun soon although there is a lot more work on the issue, but anyway things are moving!

There will be more Darkness Beneath, yes. I talked to Alex about his level and that is a good possibility!

Stunned out of my socks to see the DB level I designed for FO 14 appear on Bryce Lynch's ten foot pole blog. Of course, I get lambasted for not having the obvious structure of a level one adventure. Maybe I should have prefaced the level by saying that sane adventurers don't go to the citadel to battle its legion of dinosaur-riding trolls? I designed an unpublished area for the Deep Caves where PCs can mingle with the trolls without needing to know the fluff. At least he says its on par with that famous Ghoul/Underdark campaign...

]My players actually managed to sack the Citadel of the Dark Trolls, but they were level 14 by the time they got there. Much use of invisibility and silence and stuff like that They must have gone on a full tour to reach that level of EXP. The Citadel is a lot like module Q1, you go there after cleaning up D1-3. The troll army, if you do a head count, is actually little more than some garrisoned shock troops and a partial cavalry. A proper surface invasion force hasn't been rallied when the PCs arrive.

I converted it to TETSNBN as that is what my players had and wanted, so higher experience levels happened quicker. They lucked out by dropping in from behind - wasn't there a very long chute or ladder or something near the far end of the cavern?

Ahh, a proper surface invasion force - maybe that's what the wizard in the picture is working on, or working to prevent!

Matt R. included the secret elevator from his Palace level to the Citadel, since it is on the main map. Using the route is a smart tactic for a normal party; I'd call it an indulgent shortcut at level 14. This "TETSNBN" seems like easy mode D&D?

Ahh, Zeligar from B1! Or, maybe some other spell slinger/dungeon builder? Dave Sutherland's "Greyhawk Construction Company" image I posted above is taken from The Dragon #10. It accompanied an article on rational dungeon design titled "Let There Be a Method to Your Madness."
