Please consider supporting Kellri's sudden and serious medical expenses: Scot Hoover has a GoFundMe page up for helping to recover from a stroke he had last week. In old-school gaming circles, Scot goes by Kellri and has contributed substantially to the old-school gaming community through his writings and blog at kellri.blogspot.com/ His GoFundMe is @ www.gofundme.com/scot039s-stroke-xray-bill and could use whatever support you're willing to throw his way. Allan.

Black Blade will also have a tips jar at our GaryCon X booth for donations to support Scot Hoover's GoFundMe efforts!

Didn't have to think about it twice. Let's make this a thing, folks!
Kellri has always been extremely generous with his contributions to the RPG scene. Including, IIRC, a compilation of "Pelinore" material that must have been an absolute pregnant dog to edit, and that has basically become the single most useful volume for that setting, at this point.
More truth, the chances that anyone of you have benefited from Kellri's expertise and skill in the hobby without knowing that he was the source: Very, very big.
Sticky'ing this. Let's see if we folks can't make this... 5.100 $!

Terrible to hear that he is ill. I quite enjoyed the Pelinore volume he put together.
I'll be sure to donate as soon as my next paycheck hits.
There are several large facebook communities that are dedicated to OSR games, I wonder how they would feel about sharing the link to his gofundme?

In case folks hadn't heard, Scot suffered a second stroke on Wednesday or Thursday last week (this was breaking news over the course of GaryCon).
If you haven't donated to the GoFundMe campaign yet, there is still time to do so, and the need is as great now as it was previously, if not more so!
Black Blade will be donating $500 to support Scot.
Allan.

I haven't heard from Kellri for a couple of months, but at that time he was doing well. The donations were a huge help, allowed him to get good medical treatment and support his kids while he convalesced, and he'd recovered to the point where he could take advantage of some opportunities in his field that came his way.
So best that anyone could expect!

To foreigners like me, it's bewildering how universal healthcare can be controversial in the United States.

To foreigners like me, it's bewildering how universal healthcare can be controversial in the United States. Please, respect the rules of the board, and abstain from making comments that others might consider political statements. As for Kellri, I think the whole point of the fundraiser was that he's actually an American expatriate living abroad, if I'm not mistaken. And getting sick while living abroad is another, completely different Pandora's Box. Basically, three or four times the costs you have in your country of origin, in conjunction with issues like that you may lose your work permit if you get a chronic sickness and whatnot. So, let's please not project any personal opinions onto this. It's good that the RPG community managed to stand up for one of their very own. And that's about how complicated this really gets.

All true! I think just the knowledge that people were there and willing to help, was a big deal for his daughter as well during the time. I don't know where, FB probably, Scot recently expressed his gratitude that so many were willing to help.
