Show up for "Magic Users with Knives" even if you don't have a ticket. Let me know who you are. Smubee too. Mike, if we can't stay past 10 (because we have a long drive back to Chicagoland each night of the convention), could I drop into the game for just the first four hours? Or would that be too rude to you and the other players? Absolutely. Help me remember during the game that you have to leave early, please, so we can get the show on the road quickly. |

Shrug. It happens.
I'm in a bit of a conundrum. I don't want to take control of the group, but I REALLY want to pick up the pace.
I would have thought saying "While you stand around dithering another wandering monster appears" would have done it.

Edit: Because my fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be.... At any rate for OD&D forum people, I'll be bringing a copy of Guidon Games Chainmail down if any of you ever wanted to peruse it. Just like I did last year. It's the 2nd edition one. If not, then ignore the guy in the Manowar shirts... he probably isn't one to talk to.

Oh how I wish I wasn't thousands of miles away so I could see Mike lead Chainmail and OD&D the way they're meant to be. Hope you have a great time. Can I ask what the troop compositions will be like for both Chainmail matches? And in the OD&D game, does everybody start as level 1?
Also, the thought of there being a real OD&D game being lead by Mike through Skype or Discord gets me giddy with excitement. I would love to be a part of it and learn from the real masters!

GaryCon X Update / Sneak Preview!Went down to Cincinnati today with my daughter, and stopped by Iron Wind Metals where GaryCon X prep is well under way! Mike, James, Melissa, Nathan, Jim, and the whole gang was working overtime today prepping the IWM loadout for the show. For GM’s at the show, if you complete the required Gming slots/hours for your part in the show, you’ll receive this gorgeous Game Masters T-shirt in addition to the regular SWAG you get, just for attending this year…   If you happen to be a Volunteer at the show, like me, you’ll be entitled to receive this rare and exclusive GenCon X Volunteers T-Shirt, Woohoo! I didn't get a chance to post here earlier in the week, but I had to cancel my trip & games at Gary Con because my father-in-law passed away last weekend.
I hope to run the "Return to the Tower of Zenopus" next year instead.

I'm finally back! This evening, I played in Mike's OD&D game, and my character finally hit level three, killed two basilisks, and got lost. Now he's a minion of some naga on the 4th level of the dungeon. Time to work on a new character!

Got my OD&D fix, that's for sure!
Started with Paul's running of the Gen Con VIII tournament adventure, Rob Kuntz's "Sunken City" and later joined Mike's Chainmail "Battle on the Ice" on Thursday night. Really enjoyed both, and a big thanks to Mike for running the latter - I was on the Russian side, but the Teutonic knights didn't want to give up! Went rather late.
Caught the 35 minute cut of the "Secrets of Blackmoor" feature documentary, which I think is going to be amazing.
Andy Campbell organized a pickup game of Holmes Basic on Saturday night, which also went into the wee hours. Looking forward to catching Zach's tribute adventure next year, since I'll definitely be coming back. I was going to run a pickup game of the Gen Con X tournament adventure (town section), but will save it for 2019.
