I'm going to make minor typographical changes on a couple of pages but if die-hards wanted to buy it now there wouldn't be any real problem with that. I'm going to make those changes in the next couple of days and eliminate the warning in the published description etc. to announce the new issue in various places on Monday.
I wish there had been an editorial for the second issue - I solicited one but it came in too long (my fault, I didn't give the writer guidelines) and then with the issue being so packed and me cutting stuff from myself and many others, well, I didn't put one back in. But I'm proud of this issue, I think we've represented for the O.G.
The judges are about halfway through the mods for the contest, more on that soon.
Fight on!

Minor revisions made. we're 100% good to go. I removed the warning on the item description and will start promoting this bad boy on Monday.

Yay! People can also begin promoting it on theor blogs. ;D Link added, and when I receive my print copies, I'll probably post a review. Having seen some of the contributors' work before, I suspect the review will be positive.

My copy just arrived. Looks fantastic, Calithena -- thanks for your hard work putting this together! Next time you may have to go perfect bound, eh?
The penguin with the nunchuks is making my whole day!
I'm supposed to be grocery shopping even as I type this, but it's hard to tear myself away

Yeah, you know, Patrick's a fantastic artist, and when he told me he was having a friend (Justine) illustrate the penguin article, I was like, why? But then when I saw the pictures I got it, that's some fine art.
There's variation in image realization in issue 2 that I don't understand - I'm going to review the file types and see if I can find any patterns.
88 pages is our 'hard' upper limit thanks to lulu, I'm not switching to perfect bound. It's actually almost overload at that size, I love issue 2 but man that's a lot to digest. Plenty to dream over though.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the issue!

Like the DRAGONs of old, this one is going to take me some time to digest, and I consider that a good thing. Thanks to Lee Barber for the great pic of the dwarf battling the minotaur! It's a very good match for my article. - Brian

That pic of lee's is one of the best compositionally in the whole issue, I wish I was better with formatting so I could have blown it up to a column and a half - I have to do half or whole page right now and full page was space-prohibitive, plus the res wasn't really right. But yeah, that's a great pic.
I'm glad you're OK with the size, brian, because judging by the stuff coming in they're going to be closer to 88 than 30 for some time out.

What's the plan re: publishing the contest winners, Sean: you and Ig thinking of doing a special issue (annual?) that's just the adventure submissions, or are you going to spread them out over time?

Thanks to Lee Barber for the great pic of the dwarf battling the minotaur! It's a very good match for my article. Thanks, the topic of armor and weapons always lends itself to that old-school illustration style. Deciding who gets to fight what D&D monster is the tough part. Small "column" sizing doesn't bother me, but for the next NC-17 Petal Throne module there should be a centerfold spread

The contest winners will be spread out over time I think.
Though maybe also doing a volume of the contest winners would be a good side project. We would have to get separate permission from all contest winners for that and would probably want to release it after at least half of them had already appeared in the magazine so that there was still interest in the contest in general. Good idea, Gro...I'm going out the door but this is a great project to think about for the future.

Certainly not a bad idea, since there are so many entries that made the bar...
