That line is, of course, from the 1989 Batman film. In the context of this post, however, I'm talking about the D&D action figures and toys that came out in the early 80's. Does anybody else remember them?
As I noted in another post, I still have the cleric and elf on my shelf. I think these were the two best ones. The cleric is a curvy blonde with close-fitting plate mail, a mace/staff, and a glittery silver cape. The elf is smaller than the cleric, wiry with blue chainmail, a leather tunic, and green cape. He comes with a glow in the dark sword, a shield, bow and arrow, and a take-no-guff expression on his face. I recall having a few others: a dwarf with a big sword, a half orc, and a large green ogre with armor and weapons. Over the years they must have fallen prey to kidnapping house-goblins, for I haven't seen them in nearly two decades.
I recall that I always liked the Warduke figure, though for some reason I could never find him on the shelves. He was the epitome of cool back when I was 10. When I eventually found him for sale in a comic/games shop many years later I was disappointed to see that he looked like something you'd get in a Happy Meal.
Besides the action figures they also had larger monster figures with limited mobility. I recall that I (or perhaps a friend of mine) had a really nice looking owlbear. There were tons of goblins, generic men-at-arms, etc. If I remember correctly, they even put out a Tiamat before the line finally called it a day.
Does anybody else remember these toys? Fondly? With Disgust? At all?

I was in just the right age range for that line of toys. I still have my Zarak, evil half-orc assassin, but as a kid I had a boatload of the stuff. I recall owning both the good and evil wizards, the elf, the dwarf, the cleric, the oversized barbarian, the ogre mage, the paladin, and Warduke. I had a selection of the non-poseable and bendable figures as well. They all fought over the Fortress of Fangs. Good times.
There's a huge nostalgia toy market on the internet, both on places like ebay and specialty websites. I'm sure lots of that stuff is available still.

I remember them and still have mine, including Tiamat and the Fortress of Fangs. They were cool toys.

I had Warduke and Ringlerun. I remember not liking them all that much (probable because they weren't able to move like all my other figures). I thought the only had the only monster they had was the Hook Horror but the above poster mentions Tiamat. That would have been cool.
I've got XL-1 Quest for the Heartstone which is the module which has the Basic D&D Stats for Warduke, Strongheart and about a dozen others. Looking over the minimalist stats they'd probably work fine for OD&D.

I had Warduke and the elf, I think; pretty sure I had the dwarf, and maybe the magic user. I may have had the hook horror, but that might just be wishful memory. I actually still have the ogre mage; he is right now floating about in my oldest son's action figure box. He's been somewhat reluctant to play with it, though, since the ogre's warskirt (or whatever it's supposed to be) falls off pretty easily, and then he kinda looks like a REALLY ugly ballerina in a light blue, chainmail leotard...

Between my little brother and I we had Warduke, Braveheart (the Paladin), and several static figures (Orcs, Goblins, and Bullywugs ) Primarily.

The only one I have is Elkhorn the dwarf, who needs some paint touch-ups on his gloves but is otherwise in good condition. In my parents' eyes, the 1980s D&D stigma extended (ludicrously) to action figures...

In my parents' eyes, the 1980s D&D stigma extended (ludicrously) to action figures... The toys were even more insidious, being satanic recruitment tools aimed exclusively at children!
