Looks fun! Do you have a slightly larger version of the map? My old eyes (even with reading glasses) are having a hard time seeing the text in the map.

I tried all sorts of things to link to the original Google+ images to no avail... I just uploaded the pdf to my Google Drive: drive.google.com/file/d/0B8WsyeCmQRx0elpoM0Y5ZWhuV2s/view?usp=sharingNote that I have a few tweaks in mind, so this shouldn't be considered the final map...

And I am interested in what the green sector is The green portion is those worlds that are more or less part of the imperium. I haven't decided yet which world the PCs will muster out on, but you will start on one of those imperial worlds.

I'm using Chrome, but I'm sure this works similarly in other browsers. Right click the map, choose to open the Image in a new tab, click on the + to zoom, and you get a nice big map. At least, I do.

The size of the map even doing that (you can also click on view image and then enlarge it) will depend on screen size. For myself, on my laptop, the posted image is a bit too small to read even when enlarged to full size. Unfortunately there is a size limit to images posted. On the other hand, download the PDF and you will have a nice totally scaleable image since sec2pdf generates a raw vectorized PDF. Scale to 6400% and a nice crisp 4 digit hex number fills my screen...

Scale to 6400% and a nice crisp 4 digit hex number fills my screen... Scale to 12800% and you can make out how many moons orbit each gas giant...

You will be mustering out at the Scout Base at Ludgates. The Scout Base is on one of the many small moons orbiting a gas giant. The mainworld, Ludgates is also a moon orbiting the gas giant. Each moon is ruled by a lord (Feudal Technocracy) with some 1 million inhabitants in the underground and domed city on Ludgates. The other moons have populations ranging from 10,000 to 500,000, with a total system population of some 3 million. While the law level is rated at only 2, usually things are stricter once you get out of the star port area.
Textiles are particularly cheap at Ludgates, made from silica fibres mined from the moons. Gems are often found during the mining with low grade Cystals being more common. Radioactives are also easily found. One moon (Fizzer) produces pharmaceuticals.
Rumors:
Fizzer has started producing psionic enhancing drugs and some have been accepted into clinical trials after testing for psionic potential.
There are cities flying over the ocean at Klerkenwell. Also, Juanita Garcia, a Scout who served with Victor approaches him with an offer. On her last mission, a derelict was spotted far outsystem at Klerkenwell, unfortunately on mustering out, her number did not come up in the lottery to be assigned a scout ship. Of course this is probably highly unorthodox...
There are rumors of civil war on Cheapside.
Merkab is a hell hole.
Fogbound is a near garden world waiting for exploitation.
A business man, Sedek Aduni, is seeking passage to Koradin and then accompaniment there while he conducts inspections of his corporation's processing plants.
The Leftenant's friend Janet Smyth has gone missing. She was supposed to have gone to the Lombard Clinic for the Indigent for health care.
Runaway environment has swamped Bistron and flooded all it's cities. The Class B high port still operates. There is sure to be sunken wealth for those willing to brave the freak storms that wrack the world.

So communications and computer technology are one of the areas that always troubles me with SFRPG... My plan is to run Traveller with a definite pulp SF and maybe 70s lens to technology. That said, enough SF of the times assumes some degree of easy communication.
Within the Imperium, I will assume reasonable cost "cell phone" technology that can be assumed to work on any Imperium world with a Class C or higher Star Port, but they may well only be usable in urban areas, or possibly even only the Star Port itself. Not everyone in the population necessarily has one, but all "Travellers" (which includes all PCs) certainly do. Janet Smyth is definitely a fellow Traveller. Outside of these situations, communication will only be possible using the communicators available in the rules and purchased by characters. Of course these "cell phones" go through a planetary cell network so may be hacked by PCs and NPCs...
For capabilities of the phone, I'll assume voice, text, pictures, and limited video, maybe a few minor apps, but pointedly NOT the computing power of the hand computer.

It is a nice map :-) I made it using sec2pdf (with some tweaks to the program to get a bit more of what I wanted from it). BTW, if you are interested, I could squeeze in one or two more players.

Course Victor still has to make his dedication roll to work on Navigation-4... Frank
