Way back in 1980 or 1981 I was given this character sheet, It's not a great sheet but I've never really known where it came from. Has anyone ever seen this. Posted is the front. The back side has spell level entries that go up to 16th Level -Mike

Looks like whoever created it was using a secret True Name along with the commonly know Character Name. Would love to know how they ran that. Can you post the back also?

I notice that it's three-hole punched. Did it come that way? Is there evidence that it was torn from a pad (e.g. has the glue/gum along one edge)? Might be something The Armory (now Chessex) put out around that time. Or Role Aids (Mayfair)? Or JG?
Some other clues: an appearance stat, spell points (?), undefined save categories, and an odd AC progression.

Surprisingly, a google search for "Basic Character File" (in quotes) finds practically nothing, less than a page of results, nothing apparently relevant.

Sadly it was 36 years ago and who and how I got the original I have no current memory of. (I'm backgrounding on it trying to come with something. Memory is funny, we'll see). As far as the hole punch it's probably from the original. Shortly after I got it I had 500 copies run at my mom's High School. I used them as my go to NPC and PC sheets for a number of years, handing them out to players at will. My original stack is down to 10-12 remaining pages...Recently I began to wonder just where these came from because I've never seen it and it has some very odd entries as you see. Here is the back... It's crooked in the sheet not the scan I did.. I'll probably try to clean it up in photoshop soon.

Sixteen (16) Levels of Spells, I wonder if there was some Arduin influence or something else.
You get a lot of results if you Google, "basic character sheet" with or without the quotes. That also leads to a lot of other search options.

Interesting. The "Spell Points", sixteen levels of spells are interesting, Appearance stat, and "True Name" are distinctive.
It's not from the Arduin Adventure (1980), which adds Agility and Ego but not Appearance, and has a different sheet in the rulebook.

It's a 1979-ish PC sheet from a company called The Playing Board---I recognize the Attack Matrix style and fonts. I would point you to some more info at the Tome of Treasures, but its domain has expired....

Does anyone know if they will bring the site back, it had a lot of TSR info (not to mention the none TSR stuff) that inexplicably is missing(never included) from The Acaeum.

It's been running on administrative vaporware for awhile, unfortunately. Perhaps the site can be salvaged and incorporated into the Acaeum's sub-webs. Allan.
