So I take it that this won't be a stand-alone game?

So I take it that this won't be a stand-alone game? Looks like it is a supplement, and not a stand-alone. Mark, can you tell us more about this product? (Or, do you have a link or webpage with more info that you can point toward?) The teaser on the box in the image is so cool, but so vague...

This will be a stand alone and a supplement at the same time. This is enough to get started and point the new player to the GB game. his way new players can get started without much investment. Welcome to the Blue Book Detective Agency! Interested in the Prohibition Era of the Roaring Twenties and Dirty Thirties? You are not alone! This is the roleplaying game of Gangsters, Gun molls, Gumshoes, and G-Men. The Blue Book Detective Agency Beginner Game is a preview version of the GANGBUSTERS® 1920s Roleplaying Game that provides players with a chance to try out the game system without much in the way risk or obligation. The booklet you now hold gives you all the information you will need to create a Private Eye for the GANGBUSTERS Roleplaying Game, as well as a brief overview of how to play the game and for one player as the Judge or referee, to run the game for the others. Many rules contained in the complete GANGBUSTERS Rulebook have been omitted from The Blue Book Detective Agency Beginner Game so as to present a streamlined and simpler game. Once you have played a game or two, you will probably want to take a look at the full rules for GANGBUSTERS. The rules of this game were designed specifically to work with the GANGBUSTERS RPG; they can, however, work just as well as a stand-alone game setting. We will produce other products bearing this logo and all of them are compatible with each other. This will allow you to mix and match new options to add to you adventures.

Other than at GaryCon, what's the release plan? Will it be a regular release through game stores, a limited boxed set but regular PDF product, or what? (If it's a regular release, I may be able to convince my local game store guy to let me run a demo. He only supports game systems where he can sell copies, which is sometimes frustrating but certainly I can understand his position.)

I will have the limited box sets at North Texas con, Gary con and GenCon this year. All the Books will be POD and PDF's as well as for retail sales. I will have ISBNs for them and you will be able to order them trough LULU, AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLES, and INGRAM. All the books will be available after March. I am thinking to do a Kickstarter for a full book in the fall. The kickstarter depends on the response I get at the conventions.
