I haven't gamed in Greyhawk in years, but when I did, there were a few questions that I was never able to answer.
Who is/was the Gynarch of Hardby? She is mentioned a few times in the boxed set (all I have), but there are no details otherwise.
Which nation is more powerful, Furyondy or Nyrond?
I'm sure I'll have more questions later.

Gynarch is just female monarch, it's just the current ruler of Hardby.
I would say Nyrond is the more powerful of the two.

Thanks, Scott. Hardby can be found on the map, but there's not much written about it in the Folio. I saw a few articles online a few years back, but I didn't know if the information was official.

I don't know if it's so clear-cut which kingdom is more powerful. Nyrond has the advantage of having been part of the Great Kingdom in the past, but a Great Kingdom long in decline. While Keoland has been tested by the giants in the west and seems to have come out of it stronger. Honestly, I'd call it a toss-up.

It wasn't Keoland, it was Furyondy. Nyrond has about 4 times the population as Furyondy, which is the primary reason why I'd say Nyrond. The Guide also mention the strength of Nyrond being the primary reason that the Great Kingdom isn't running rampant across the Flanaess. The Dragon Shape of the World articles also painted Nyrond as pretty tough. Not that Furyondy, or even Keoland, which has an even smaller population than Furyondy, aren't tough, I'd consider the quality of their armies pretty similar, but Nyrond gets it due to an overwhelming advantage in numbers.

Oops! Sometime between reading and posting I got it in my head that we were comparing Nyrond to Keoland.
Then I agree with Scotty; Furyondy is weak from decades of fighting on Iuz's doorstep. Nyrond is still strong.
