Once Upon A Christmas Cruel - (Manhatten, Xmas Eve, cultists, a ceremony - PCs as cops stumble on it)

Phonies and Phonographs -  (skullduggery in '30's Tin Pan Alley - PCs as mob muscling in as phonographs replace sheet music)

The Jaded Jane with the Jinxed Jalopy (ex-Hollywood starlet survives dubious automobile crash - detectives investigate, flamboyant film industry colleagues suspected)

something based around Jazz - saw the blurb for the novel 'The Axeman's Jazz', where Louis Armstrong helps track down a serial killer in 1919.

White Russian - Bolsheviks are hunting down Anastasia Romanov in Chicago, on the PCs turf.

PCs are an FBI agent, a retired cop and their mobster captive, travelling by train long distance. Rival mobsters want the captive (alive if possible) and are on the same train. you could add a rare shipment of snakes that are loosed into the carriages, to spice it up, along with a roster of other passengers.

Yes it's do-able being a contained area, you could provide a plan of a carriage, with a less-detailed one for the train maybe ?
