Quite a find; reminds me of that Batman manga from the 60's. I particularly like how it seems as though half of the art is spot-on, and the other half seems to be from a completely different story. It looks like Luke has a Boeing 747 parked in Uncle Owen's garage there...

Three things in particular stood out for me:
1. In Part 1 Darth Vader's personal carrier looks like the Yamato.
2. A panel in Part 5 shows Rebel technicians wearing 2-piece suits with neckties.
3. Chewbacca's appearance changes. Early panels portray him like the movie Chewbacca. Later on he looks more like a bearded chimpanzee.

I imagine (Although I really have no way of knowing) that the comic creators probably had a smuggled movie magazine and/or toy ad from Hong Kong for visual reference and maybe a couple of friends/family who saw the movie while out of the country to fill them in orally on the story details.
It's really a testament to how durable the core story is that it still works even in such a diluted copy-of-a-copy form.
