The original box set has no deck plans for the game. How do you feel about even using deck plans and ship designs for CT? Do you design your own? Was there a resource or supplement you feel adds to the game?

The science fiction boards (especially the SFRPG board) at The Miniatures Page has a bunch of them. I haven't used any deckplans in my game yet, but I have the deckplans from the first Volturnus module I can use for a firefight between the PCs and some space pirates.

I use deck plans all the time, because I see ships in Traveller more as settings than anything - my players certainly (sensibly!) have always avoided ship combat like the plague. Of course the fact that I went straight from D&D to Traveller might have had something to do with it ... Oh, here's one of mine! www.drivethrurpg.com/product/63651/Nemesis-Class-Pursuit-Ship But various examples are all over the internet, for free.

I enjoy SPICA's Outer Veil setting. It's my default Traveller setting when I run traveller. I prefer the "low fantasy" feel of the setting it's great to sandbox in.

In CT there are a few supplements that has deck plans in them. Fighting Ships has some military ones. Traders and Gunboats have more common adventurer Ships. As well as a number of adventures have them. Adventure 1 The Kunir has them for that ship. The games Snapshot and Azahanti High Lightning has table ready sheets in 15mm scale.
