Hi All, Is there a rules-as-written way to determine Robot PC Constitution and Strength? The point-buy rules determine the Resistances and Dex; that part I get. Thanks, Legion

OK then.
Under Physical Weapons it gives base STR 12, +2 for (per?) 10 power points invested. A friend just pointed that out.
And for CON I've decided on 12+1d6, maybe 14+1d4. I like the randomness to allow for Friday jobs, use of make-do materials, etc. I need the CON stat more for conversion of 'bots to Mutants and Death Ray Guns than for MetAl games but I'll find a use for it in the latter as well.
[Edit: I'll consider 'bot CON as workmanship of construction. I'm sure I can find a use for that!]
[2nd Edit: I'm going with 13+1d5 for CON. It does everything I need. I'll think about whether or not I want to work that into the as-is fatigue and malfunction rules. Doable and maybe even desirable.]

Which version are you using? It sounds like 4th ed. I'm currently fighting through the rules and will probably end up with a conglomeration of 1st and 4th.

Sorry for lag. I play 1st ed, now from the Goodman Games deluxe hardcover. Robot PC rules are from Dragon 14. There are solid reasons in that article for assuming Robot PCs (which -- according to the back-story -- are of post-catastrophe construction) aren't as well built as the much older ship-controlled 'bots. I don't intend to impose CON on Robot PCs in any other way than workmanship of construction, an idea also suggested in the article's fatigue, malfunction and damage text. As I said I really want the base number of 13 + 1d5 (i.e., 14) for my conversions to Mutants and Death Ray Guns (which you can find here: interloperminiatures.com/files/2015/03/MetAl-MuDRaG-and-back01.pdf ). So CON for Robot PCs will be sort of a vapor stat. I don't give Mutants a vapor Leadership Potential stat though, so my jury is still a bit out.

I just realized that Mutants and Death Ray Guns is one of the "Song of..." games. I love the original. I'll have to pick that up. I don't have the big deluxe hardcover - though I've been tempted. My problem is that I don't know where I would put it - it if VERY big. I've bought a bunch of their other stuff though. I do have a PDF of Dragon 14 around somewhere. I'll check it out.
