I'm not including in this list monster attacks that are not brute attacks with parts of the body. Bites and blows count. Breath weapons, a balrog's immolation, etc. do not count.
Below is a list of the monsters from the 1974 rules that do more than a single die of damage in a melee round:
ogres: 1 die +2 (3-8 points) giants: 2 to 3 dice damage, depending on type hydras: 1 die per head (yoinks!) chimeras: 1 die per head (I think.) sea monsters: 3 or 4 dice damage large rocs: 2 or 3 dice damage (I think.) elementals: varies djinn: as giants, -1 efreet: 2 dice black pudding: 3 dice damage gray ooze: 2 dice damage large insects or animals: 2 to 4 dice giant octopi and giant squids: 1 die per arm giant crabs: 1 die per pincher
