My publisher (James Raggi of Lamentations of the Flame Princess) and I have decided that any and all sorcerous rituals in the forthcoming Carcosa book will be new to that book. We don't want to reprint any from the first Carcosa book because, well, why pay twice for them?
My problem is that I already created 96 (97, actually) rituals for the first Carcosa book, and in my home Carcosa campaign, I simply use those 97 rituals. In fact, more than half haven't even been acquired by the PCs yet. There just hasn't been a need in my campaign for me to create new rituals.
I'd love to see your Carcosa rituals. I'm sure people must have read my rituals and thought, "I see what you're getting at here. Let me write some that are even better!"
Please email your rituals to me at geof_mckinney@yahoo.com if you are interested in them possibly being published in the forthcoming Carcosa book. Note that the submitted rituals might be revised (maybe even radically so) in the published version. I have little doubt that James would credit the creators of the rituals in the published book, something like: "Thanks to Kim Brown, Tim Black, Jim White, and Slim Green for the sorcerous rituals that appear in the book." Or perhaps an itemized listing of creators and their creations as in the AD&D Fiend Folio. Or something.
Oh, one more thing: The new rituals must conjure/bind/torment/whatever entities that are not in the first Carcosa book. For example, don't send me a ritual that does something to the Deep Gibbering Madness. Instead, send rituals that affect icky things of your own creation (and be sure to send stats and descriptions of the icky things).
So if you want to leave your mark on the blasphemous pages of Carcosan lore, and be rendered infamous thereby, email your rituals and entities to:
