Ugh, Tekumel, my one gaming weakness. I've ordered but I find it incredibly frustrating that there is no information on the content. I know from the picture of the first page we get an adventure but no information on what it is, for example. Could you give a brief outline of what's in this issue?

The fanzine is all about EPT. First there are a few "additions and changes" ie. He will be referring to the alignments as "Change/Stability" rather than "Good/Evil". Then a description of one of two additional classes he uses - the Shaman. There are some nicely fleshed out Patrons with some really cool scenario hooks for each. A short bestiary of some beasties not in EPT. Then some magic items. At the end is a short scenario. I thought the Shaman write-up quite good and liked the magic items. The scenario was seems a good introductory adventure that looks like it could lead to others. My favourite section, however, is the Patrons. A really, really good idea. :-)

I'm never buying anything from that Dwimmermount guy. Period. No matter how cool it is.

I sympathise, vlark but I also believe that forgiveness is preferable to resentment. Thanks Tekumelproject, the patrons do sound very interesting.

Yeah, it's very cool. I have my copy.
Table of Contents Page 2 - Alignment, Professions, and Basic Talents House rules to the EPT main book
Page 3 - Shaman Adds another spell caster that doesn't have to be a foreigner and could well come from some distant tribe or from a relic culture
Page 10 - Patrons Are fleshed out from the random patron table. Helps to anchor them in a time and place.
Page 16 - Bestiary Monsters that appeared in other EPT stuff but didn't have EPT stats.
Page 21 - Magical Devices Like it says more magical toys for your game. They keep with the format found in the EPT main book.
Page 23 - The Hidden Shrine Does a good job of anchoring in the political and social aspects of dungeon delving on Tekumel.

I'd be all over this if it wouldn't just sit on the shelve collecting dust with the rest of the EPT stuff. (A personal problem, not a problem with the offering.) =

(A personal problem, not a problem with the offering.) = I have a similar problem, but solve it by ripping off anything I like from EPT/Tekumel and integrating it into my own world. That way I get to use what I like without having to convince anyone else to play EPT.

I assume Jamal is James. Why is he called Jamal?

LOL, nope, I don't have an issue with your preference. To each their own. Jamal's history, tendencies and activities are fair game for discussion and option. PT Barnum's theorem is one used by him in this latest venture.

I assume Jamal is James. Why is he called Jamal? Shorthand for James Maliszewski. I first saw it during the Kickstarter debacle.

I don't what the history is, but if you send that guy the money on paypal he sends a zine to your house. At least that was my experience.
Speaking of the zine, the art in it is rad. Jason Sholtis channeling some solid Jakallan flava. I like.

For you folks that have issues with James, start a new thread about it. This isn't the place for it. Last I check we are talking about Issue 1 not your personal issues. monk Yeah, the art is super cool.

[ADMIN VOICE] Please do not clutter these boards with argument about James. I understand that some folks have issue with him, but we don't need to fight about it here. I'm close to locking the thread or deleting a number of posts. Just play nice. [/ADMIN VOICE]

My copy came before the Christmas holidays. Looking forward to fhe second issue. It's worth $10 for the Jason Sholtis cover, never mind anything else. You can frame it and call it a day. The new content for Tékumel is great, and it's all for the first boxed set edition of the game. It even uses the same numbering scheme when discussing new rules.

I recently received Issue 2 of this fanzine. I actually signed on just now to post a little review of it here, but I when to the zine's URL to copy and paste it and it's sold out! Not much point in writing a review now...maybe I received the last copy?
Anyways, I liked it, and will be ordering the new issue as well. I'm pretty new to EPT, and I found it very approachable which was a bit of a relief. Some nice artwork and maps as well.
I'm assuming this is all information from the author's home game. I really wished people (myself included) would do things like this more often. Wouldn't it be great if everyone had a campaign zine? I'd love to have a box full of little booklets from a dozen or so different campaigns. Easier said than done I guess.
